Photoshop...

Once I took all my photos, I started to make my music magazine on Photoshop. Whilst making the cover, I have realized that some colours do not work out so well as others, and that the main image doesn't work as well in black and white as I imagined.

 1) When I first started making the magazine cover, I used my flat plan as a base so that I could see where everything would go and worked from there.
 2) I then started to add the masthead on the cover as well as other aspects of the cover. I turned the main image black and white as that was the colour that I was originally going for. Whilst working on this cover, I realized that the black and white isn't very effective as there is nothing around her. So, I think that to have a black and white image, there must be a background in order for it to work and look effective.
 3) I then decided to change the colour of the image to make it look more "Indie". This filter doesn't look so great as I feel as if it clashes with the colours that I am using. I also added a graphic to the cover.
 4) Once I saw that the filtered colour and the black and white images were not working so well, I decided to use the original image and just complete everything around it and then focus on the image. I used shadows on the yellow part above the models head and used the shadowing effect on the graphic to make them seem less flat and more 3D. I also put what 'IE' stands for in black underneath the masthead. I also started to include some text on the cover.

5) I then started to add some text in the graphic and feel as if the cover is slowly coming along even though it is looking quite plain. I have also decided to change the colour scheme to red, black and white as I feel that the current colour scheme that I am using isn't very attractive, bold and quite plain-looking.
